There’s just something about the Tango

Whether you have legs curled in a dimly lit, smoky club in Buenos Aires, or you are curled up at home with a glass of fine wine watching Dancing With the Stars, the Tango captures the imagination. It’s a steamy dance that just radiates mystery and sensuality. Poulet Koenkamps’s new release from PurpleMoon Creation exemplifies that mood so very well! The spicy hot little Malena dress is not one to wear if you want to sit still, it just begs to go dancing. The hat, cuffs and tie I am wearing are actually accessories from Tangorize Me, another new release PurpleMoon outfit. I thought they added sort of a fanciful and intriguing touch to this totally flirty feminine dress. The Malena invites you to play to create your own imaginative scenario and make it a reality.



I also found just the right bold makeup look in Lily – Hush Skins’ latest release. The honey tone, with the Ravish makeup selection, is so perfect for the look and the fiery mood of the Tango! I love this Bella hair that i purchased sometime back from I Love Olive, unfortunately that store closed. However, the designer, Prosperitus Nakamura who now goes by the nomme de plume, Mrs. Amour, is back and has a new store Pomme d Amour. Perhaps you can persuade her to bring the Bella back

Poulet Koenkamp is really on a roll with her elegant mesh releases from Purple Moon! Her fab Bed of Roses Gown, shown here in but one of the yummy colors, is definitely a front-runner in mesh design. While we were a bit skeptical that we’d see our favorite designers really embrace this new medium, the consistently beautiful and well-fitted offerings from PurpleMoon are showing that it can be done very well indeed. Seq found the Teal and Grape colors ideal for her graceful Nena jewelry ensemble from Aurora Borealis and was delighted that the hemline allows her to show off her new Goshi Pumps from Mstyle.

And, speaking of hemlines! The little Julia Balloon dress from PurpleMoon raises both the hemline, and the bar in mesh design. This a most comfortable dress which has some wonderful movement and enables one to sit down gracefully, without having parts vanish into the pose! If you haven’t yet tried any mesh designs this dress would make an excellent first run. Comfortable, and easy to dress up or stay casual. Fay’s Dorian platform heels work extremely well for a evening of dancing at the club, and provide a good reason to sit down and enjoy that mesh flexibility too.

Flirty to elegant . . . and beyond

Oh to be in Paris in the springtime!!!
Cabin fever got the best of us for a bit, but with the Ides of March and bikini season soon approaching it is time have a Caesar salad and do a bit of holiday catch-up…not “ketchup”, ewww that would taste terrible on the salad. Anyway… Let’s begin our trip back in time with a visit to Paris Metro! I have always found Rose’s designs to be most innovative, so very wearable and well matched to the way we move. She has consistently brought fresh approaches to SL fashion in the line of her designs, as well as her choice of fabrics and fine textures.



I just love the subtle animal print she chose for the Tu An Animal Panther Cocktail dress. That big cat’s eyes seem just right with the flirty off-the-shoulder look of this little dress. The long sheer gloves, from the same fabric as the bodice overlay, are a perfect accent. I’ve just added the Ruby Pepite earrings from Orage Couture’s 2010 Christmas Collection and matching Sydney Stiletto’s from SLink and let my hair go appropriately loose with the new Darilynn from Damselfly.

Changing the mood a bit from flirty to elegant, the Arabian Magic gown from Paris Metro is the perfect choice for that most formal evening with someone special. Once again Rose has followd the inspiration of the most amazing gold embellished fabric to highlight the daring lines of her seductive and sophisticated design. Sometimes elegance comes in softly! As in the case of the Flower Flamingo Gown, one of Paris Metro’s latest releases. Dreamy and like floating on a cloud, this gown is perfect for dancing in the moonlight whether on the aft deck of a cruise ship or barefoot on your favorite beach. Yes there is even more! Yet another example of her magical creative skills with diverse materials, Rose combined a a seductively flared top with a soft leather corset and  the sheerest float of a long skirt in her aptly named Leather & Sheer Gown. What a delightful and unexpected combination! My new Hearts Aflame jewelry ensemble from Chop Zuey seemed to be just the right match.

Raindrops Keep Falling

The Kites Collection from Meiling Couture gets a new addition this week with the introduction of the Raindrop Spring Dress. Freshness abounds in the lines and gathering of the peplum waistline. The shoulders are sheer and flowing to the wrist tied off at the wrist and above the elbow by the cutest bows. The fabric and colour reminds one of the subtle prismatic colour variations of blue end of the spectrum following the curves fluidly. Meiling always has something new to share, which is why she was invited to show her collection at London Fashion Week in RL. Since I can’t make it to London I am thinking Trinidad might be a great destination. One thing is for sure this is my new favorite from Meiling.

PurpleMoon at World’s End

Poulet K’s recent Floral Dress release at Purple Moon could possibly be the most perfect summer addition to your wardrobe. The Floral Dress has three optional skirt variations including a daring utra-mini with a unique floral hem, a lovely lace trimmed mini, and a frothy Empire-waisted tunic style. Such versatility! you can tuck this flexible ensemble into your travel bag and be ready for any spur of the moment special event. The most difficult thing is choosing a particular color to wear from Poulet’s full selection of lovely florals.



I thought the Etnia Bangles from Purple Moon were very well suited to the B&W theme and i am always pleased with any opportunity to add my favorite two-tone spectator pumps — The FeliciaStilettos from SLink. Of course by now you almost come to expect a Kym styling to include a special hat.



I found the Sabrina from Couture Chapeau to be just right. Chigadee London’s collection of incredible hats always offers a tempting style. The Sabrina, which i especially love for summer, has a menu-driven color change sash band to match most every outfit.



Last but definitely not least – Yula Finesmith has just release d a line of SOLID color nails ! We have enjoyed her amazing decorated nails for some time and now these are perfect for everyday, as well as dress up occasions. Yula has a 50% moving sale for many of her items now until she opens her new Finesmith location in the next few days. It was such fun to put this ensemble together, my first pick of the Floral Dresses was the crisp black and white but, after spending the afternoon shooting this one, it is quite likely i will head back to Purple Moon for more.

Raves for Meiling

Let’s start from the top with a topper! Couture Chapeau has been making hats in SL for a a very long time and we have featured wide selection of CC hats including the one Sequoia is keeping the sun at bay with, the La Loren Firenze Chapeau. What many don’t realize is that there are very strong ties in both RL and SL between Couture Chapeau and the Meiling Couture brand. It was at the invitation of CC owner and designer, Chigadee London, which brought Meiling to Second Life and with Chigadee’s and her partner Balthazar Fouroux’s perseverance Meiling has continued to astonish, enjoying rave reviews for the Second Life interpretations of her real world hit collection, Grand Riviere. Sequoia is wearing the centerpiece of this collection – the Sea Foam Gown. Tosy Xue’s wonderful bracelet & nail sets, MagnaMater in gold, and the Memorial Love Pearl necklace & earring set, both from WTG offer a splendid adornment to this stunning outfit.



The Sea Foam gown is soft and delightfully feminine, the colour and fabric textures enhance the stunning cut of this cool summer dream. The deep cut ruffled top features a nearly bare back, perfect for those sultry summer beach soires. Elegantly matched with a softly flowing full white linen skirt the Sea Foam gown is both airy and seductive.



The Innocence gown was dedicated to the winner of the June Meiling Styling Award – Tyra Eiren. Delicate lace, tucks and ruffles remind one of the genteel days of afternoon teas and strolls along the boardwalk or in this case “birdwalk”. KymSara was found warbling “these are a few of my favorite things” as she danced among the scattering of heron in this very special gown.



Kym also gives a peek at the delicate Mt Plasir, from the most recent Meiling collection, a pure a delight to wear and the perfect choice for summer evening cocktails and dancing under chandeliers or stars. The modest neckline, ruffled sleeves and flowing knee length skirt offer the perfect elegance and gracefulness for the sophisticated taste.



A very joyful Kym had such a fun time styling options with the Cotton Hill tank top and skirt. Initially she found it to be a fantastic casual outfit, just right for a lunch date or a day of shopping. She was delighted to discover that a few simple additions of a favorite Contessa hat from Couture Chapeau, the new Spiral Bracelet from Finesmith and her bright Sydney heels from SLink made this casual cotton confection an easily dressed up bit of brilliance. It is easy to see why this new brand is doing so well in SL.

Northern Lights Over the City of Light

JeanPierrot Hamelin, Curator of the Paris Metro Art Gallery recently premiered a new exhibit of RL Danish & Second Life Artist Betty Tureaud’s work entitled “North Pole”. In the exhibit the award winning Miss Tureaud experiments with the brilliant spectrum of colour and light of the Aurora Borealis. Rose (RFB Morppork), owner of the Paris Metro Art Gallery and designer of Paris Metro, took the opportunity to collaborate with Betty to create an unbelievable new dress to add to her Paris Metro Artist series. Rose has captured the colours and dynamics of the artist’s work beautifully in the truly inspired Betty Tureaud gown. The movement of the brilliant patterns and flow of the gown is as mesmerizing as natures brilliant display. This fabulous gown is available at Paris Metro for the duration of the exhibit with 50% of proceeds going directly to the to Miss Tureaud. Fuego y Salsa!

Pardon me if i seem impertenent using Spanish for the title of my post today. “Fire and Salsa!” seemed a little tame and the Carnation Salsa gown from Paris Metro is anything but tame! Upon seeing it for the first time i thought this is one virtual blaze of passion! The vibrant colors and waves of flame create a conflagration with your every movement. Run, don’t walk, burn a path to Paris Metro at FOUR SEASONS PLAZA right NOW! There is a special introductory 66% off sale price, but the Carnation Salsa Gown will go to full price after Sunday July 3rd. Wearing this gown is an almost certain guarantee to ignite a few sparks in your flame and my oh my what a way to create some fireworks!

You know i love accessories and love this new set i am previewing from Aurora Borealis. This fascinating set called Fire is part of the Elemental Series available soon in stores. The Fire earrings and necklace have a flickering flame captured in the in the jewel! Finesmith’s most awesome Rave nails, and Cybergirl bracelets added a fabulous finish. But the final touch came from Kara Goodliffe who sent her Hair Fair demo pack from Me., arriving just in time to include the sensationally sensual Elizabeth hair.

….You Make My Heart Sing!

It’s officially Summer, and time to find that perfect swimsuit! We’ve been watching our waists, counting our pixel intake. Now we get to show off our sexy curvaceous shape in high style! Swaffette Firefly has created some extraordinary sets for the beach and poolside, including her wonderful new line of Wild Thing Swimwear from SF Design. Each suit comes with a matching sarong which intensifies the vibrant colors patterned exquisitely in an animal skin. All of the color selections are tempting , i finally decided on the pink in snakeskin. That settled, i knew exactly where to turn for accessories – where else but Finesmith?



I faced a wide selection of possibilities from Yula’s myriad of incredible designs. I couldn’t narrow to one set so decided on pieces from a couple of different Finesmith series – the earrings are from the Leah Inspiration Set, while the bracelets i like best come from The Idioma Series – both are colour change and menu adjustable. And of course would feel naked without my nails so i added Finesmith Rave nails to finish the look. I recently picked up a few summery shoes at a new store to me, SHOEnique. The have some really unique and comfortably stylish designs worth a trip to see. I chose the Sea Shell Wedges which not only looked just right ,but have a name to match for any beach or swim suit destination.

Que? Sarah Sarah

AlaFolie’s recent release Sarah is a thoroughly delightful ensemble which seems to be stirring some genuine excitement, and deservedly so, with fashion watchers around the grid. One can immediately detect the enduring influence of Paul Poiret in the overall design. The exquisite silk peplum vest gives Sarah a strong sense of the post war late 40′s flair which was influenced heavily by disciples of the forward thinking Mr. Poiret. The result is astonishing and plays well to illustrate the meticulous work of the designer, pixivor Allen. In addition to the voil skirt/frou pants version i am wearing, the ensemble includes an elegant long skirt, and a variety of choices (with a matching shoulder bag and coordinating shoes) to enable you to put together your favorite look and variation for everyday or that special occasion.
