Thrills and Twill from Trill

Ol' cotton fields back home . . .

Every visit to Trill Zapetero’s two shops; Boho Hobo and Meena, reveals some wonderfully fresh design, all finely executed. Here is a set of three outfits assembled from these shops which reflect Trill’s diverse spectrum of items for your SL wardrobe. While exploring the new layout of the Boho Hobe shop i found this soft plaid Rudy Fehr flannel shirt – definitely not my typical look 🙂 but it is so well done and comfortable that i could not resist. The jeans are also from Boho’s most complete selection of denim on the grid! And i love my new Cowgirl boots – a member gift from Chop Zuey.

Snow Shadows

From totally casual to a bit more formal have a close look at the lovely details of this Crushed Velvet long coat. Just perfect for the crisp winter walks. It will work great over your favorite maxi skirt or, as i did here, paired with tailored pants and a dressy blouse – I chose the Classic Smocked sleeve blouse from Meiling and added the new Fresh Boots from Finesmith.

and a pony-tail a hangin' down . . .

Last, but definitely not least, how about a vintage look! The latest addition to Trill’s fun line is a terrific Jean Jacket available in a variety of colors and trim options. Here i have combined it with my favorite poodle skirt from Ivalde’s 1950’s collection and the most authentic saddle oxfords i have discovered. I found them at Robin (Sojourner) Woods Avi Shop – a delightful, new-to-me shop with a variety of fascinating items including the prettiest set of wicker furniture for the deck.

A Evening at the Rose

An Evening at the Rose

Poulet Koenkamp of PurpleMoon has definitely raised the bar with the release of her exquisitely textured Rusalka Gown. Named for the elegant fashion icon Rusalka Callisto, the Rusalka gown is another example of the fabulous attention to fabric choices that are the trademark of PurpleMoon. The light catching contours and perfectly balanced tones of the flowing skirt accented with a laced bolero bodice, and contrasting long gloves and sash complete a totally unique look.

An Evening at the Rose

And what could be a better finishing touch than her latest Cubics jewelry design – shown here in the Dans la Choclaterie theme, this angular set provides a thoroughly modern and unique contrast with the soft lines of the gown.

Boho, Bikes, Beautiful

A horse of a different wheelbase!

It has been a while since our last feature on Boho Hobo and much has happened there worth noting. Trill Zapatero has expanded her line and opened a branch shop called Meena, specializing in the native designs of Afghanistan. This is a must visit mountain top setting where you’ll find a extensive and exciting selection of Afghanistan Bohemian themed clothing and jewelry. I strongly recommend the Magic Carpet Ride for a storybook tour of the landscape. If not the Magic Carpet then maybe the Indian will have you humming a little Steppenwolf?

I simply could not resist the colorful new Kuchi skirts and paired my favorite one with one of Trill’s yummy little silk tank tops from the main Boho Hobo shop, a really perfect compliment to these skirts. Oh don’t dare forget the cleverly, and appropriately named Shlumpy Hat. What a fun chapeau – perfect for those casual yet frivolous days when you just must have that one feel-good-about-life-in-general look.

Boho Hobo Poncho!

There are so many unique and beautiful things at Meena. Check out the selection of ponchos for sure and the rich array of finely detailed Jewelry, also from Afghanistan. These pixel creations emulate the styles of ethnic tribal metalworkers from all corners of Afghanistan; from the Kuchi nomads of the south to the Tekke Turkomen of the northern highlands. Paste glass inlays, twisted metal, coins, carnelians and lapisand engraved and carved designs are some of the features of these designs. I found that the Yakata set I am wearing with the poncho also works very well for more formal looks.

Afghanistan Sunrise

I did a bit of a mix and match under my Big Floppy Hat (gotta love Trill’s apropos names for stuff 🙂 to show the Nikoo bangles and the Delaram Dangly Bell Pendant. Both of these items have their own matching pieces including earrings, necklace and bracelets.

A horse of a different wheelbase!

One could run up and down the mountain between these shops all day, and Trill has thoughtfully provided a teleporter to make it easy. On one of the treks i discovered this amazing leather jacket with simply awesome texture and detail. I suprised more than a few friends when i put together this outfit including Boho’s faded bell-bottom jeans and another silk top and ran off to The Crossroads for some on-location shooting amidst SL’s most difinitive collection of vintage motor bikes. Even if you are not attracted to these amazing machines, you will find the stream of live blues music there well worth a visit!
