Draped in Splendor!

Origami by Paris MetroOrigami is a traditional Japanese art of paper folding, the goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. RFB Morpork has given the name Origami to this fabulous draped back dress from Paris Metro Couture.Origami by Paris Metro

Like taking a flat piece of paper, mesh is transformed as she has taken two dimensional textures of fabric, light and shadow and folded them into this exquistive design of sumptupous lines and curves. There isn’t much more to say that can’t be expressed in the photos, other than to say, the warm glow you feel wearing this mesh fabulousness is beyond words to describe.

I love mixing and matching my accessories across the palatte of this dress. Combining the designs of three wonderful jewelry designers was a joy and came with marvelous results. A special welcome back to Julia Merosi of je::suis who took a short respite and is now back enthusiastic and in a new location.

News from Paris Metro Couture!

All that glittersIt is always exciting to see what creative new designs Rose is bringing us from Paris Metro Couture, especially when she sojourns off to explore fantastic possibilities for her ongoing Story Book Collection! The inspiration for her latest addition to the collection is,”The Princess and the Goblin,” a children’s fantasy novel written by George MacDonald in 1872. As the tale unfolds Princess Irene, who lives a lonely life in a wild, desolate, mountainous kingdom, must hatch a plan to defeat the goblins and save the kingdom. Rose has interpreted Irene’s fantasy with a gown that would delight any princess. You must see all the colours and textures available. I chose the golden colour which seemed to me to not only capture the light and reflect the storybook mood, but also to touch a bit of the line reminiscent of the 1930/40 fashion eras. So off i went to Swing Times sim for this shoot! You know how i favor vintage designs, and Swing Times is a fabulous place to enjoy wearing these fashions for a trip back in time.

It's beginning to look a lot like winter

There is lots more going on at Paris Metro Couture in addition to the Story Book Collection. Rose has just released a fresh new line for the coming winter season. Highlighting this collection is her warm and snuggly Kable Cuddle Sweater and Big Cable Knit scarf with matching leggings — just the perfect outfit in which to venture out into that first frosty snowfall to watch the magic glitter of the morning sun on the trees and perhaps catch some of the season’s first snowflakes on your tongue! I discovered that the snow has already begun to fall in Hiraku, a lovely spot to visit.

Rose continues her creative “Storybook Series” line with a very special design titled “The Peacock’s Complaint,” inspired by the Aesop fable of the glorious bird who found no joy in his beauty and complained bitterly about his raspy voice. This tale seeks to teach us to make the most of what we have and not to envy the gifts of others. This highly detailed gown is is made from imported metallic thread embedded silk from the Far East, fashioned to capture the colour and grace of the peacock feathers.

Aphrodite's Rose

While I still cannot pick a favorite from among these designs, I must include the incredible Le Linen Rose II among my top picks. The delicate and sheer lines of this graceful gown and the remarkable detail work, including the rose theme ebroidery, will make this one of my fall favorites. I was also delighted to discover how well the NEW Aphrodite Bronze Ensemble, from Vendome Jewelry, fit with this gown . . . and to emphasize the regal look even a bit more . . . i chose a few of the NEW Princess Poses from PosESioN, which are part of their gift for the Runway Perfect Hunt, starting October 1.

By the sea . . .

The Riviera is far from the glitter of the city, but no less elegant, KymSara enjoys a peaceful twilight stroll among the wildflowers on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean wearing Paris Metro Couture’s Elemental Water Gown. With the melodic strains of Francis Cabrel’s Je l’aime à mourir, discernible above the sounds of the surf, she reflects on a most pleasant evening. To match the mood, the environment and the theme of this lovely gown KymSara chose the Water Spiral Jewelry ensemble from Elemental Earth Designs (EED). Right on cue enters her paramour to escort her back for one last spin across the dance floor.

Haute & Soft & Fast!

Haute gal in town

Out for an afternoon of shopping, Sequoia has it all together in this eye catching ensemble styled around Paris Metro’s Scribble Cocktail Dress. She was so taken with this ensemble that includes the hat, that she created a matching bag and jewelry of her own modified design to match. No stopping there she took a yellow cab to MStyle to pick up the perfect shoes. And those legs!!!  Are you taking a long look? . . .

Were you wondering too? how could an elephant stand on those?! Ohhhh . . . you thought i meant Sequoia’s legs . . . mmm hmm!

Soft evening breeze

A bit later that evening we meet up with KymSara . . . , the party was lovely, but it is time for a breath of fresh air and a quiet stroll on the beach. The Mountain Satin dress, NEW from Paris Metro, is a classic look with a contemporary feel accentuated by a vintage straw hat draped with a colourful sash. The Mountain Satin dress is perfect for a look that will take you through the afternoon into an evening of cocktails on the patio at the club and, finally, under the moon with wedgesandals in hand, being chased by the waves and a soon to be dear loved one. Carefree, the skirt is sheer heaven and will float and flutter making the evening breeze even more inviting.

Spring Night in Paris

Kym was fascinated by the recent “Eternal Flames” exhibit of Milly Shaple’s work at the Paris Metro Gallery, and is wearing the M. This is one of the unique gowns in the Paris Metro Couture Artist Seies. Shown here against the fading evening light you can see that it is as light as a soft spring breeze with a delightful richness of colour and elegance of line. Every gown, or design, in this series embodies some of the exhibiting artists’ work, with 50% of all sales sent directly to the Artist at the time of your purchase. These gowns enable Paris Metro Art Gallery to maintain and continue to bring great talent and events to Second Life. Lady of the Manor

I would say its safe to say that tosy Xue is also one of Sequoia’s favorite jewelers too. This fabulous manor house styling of the J’Taime from Paris Metro Couture deserves the regal treatment and one could never go wrong with tosy’s most elegant “Fragrance” jewelry ensemble which Seq has chosen to adorn herself with.

Spring Night in Paris

Sometimes it is so difficult to pick from all of tosy’s incredible designs but KymSara has chosen well wearing the Dragon Fes necklace. Beautifully detailed it provides a perfect accent to her most beautiful gown.
