Boho Hobo & Meena at the Fair

More Boho Hobo - For the Fair

Canadian designer Trill Zapatero has traveled the world and studied the textile creations of many countries. Trill has lived the bohemian lifestle. This experience of vagabonding through many countries of various traditions brought her to create Boho Hobo and Meena brands in SL. The designs are so incrediblely colourful and exciting, what even makes them stand out more is Trill’s generosity. Not only are her fabulous designs reasonabley priced, but all proceeds from all sales go to RAWA, an organization that funds orphanages, schools and clinics for refugees of the Afghan war. All of these amazing designs are available at the Boho Cultural Fair until October 31st.

Sequoia wears the mesh skinny jeans and matching Bandeau top in aqua. Mix and match is so much the ideal at Boho Hobo with selection of many seperates to create your own unique look. A few flowers in her hair from Truth or the Abe hat with a fine flourish of feathers, Sequoia is ready to bring her wearable artism to Burn2 the art event in SL that is the only virtual sanctioned community of Burning Man.

Kymsara is wearing the Backless Choli Top & Kuci Skirt from Meena. Meena clothing and jewelry is influenced by the Afghanistan textile traditions. The backless Choli top is gathered by a soft ribbon tie above the top skirting the waistline of the vibrant Kuci skirt. Bohemian, Gypsy and Hippie influnces in the cut and style of clothes can be seen in the melting pot of world fahion and as the influence of textile traditions merge.

A perfect complement is the Fareiba Jewelry Ensemble, also from the Boho Hobo shop the Boho Cultural Fair.

Every so often the free styling of Boho resurfaces to the most unlikely of places of style as club wear. This wherly gigs mesh tube dress could be seen as a very transistional dress going from afternoon straight to an evening out. The crazy quilted pattern lends itself well to tradition while looking fresh and Boho-Chic. You could definitely see Kate Moss in such a look. Glitter Shimmer Glam

All that glitters . . .

There is reason to be thrilled when any formal invitation arrives this fall… Black and White and everyshade of the monochromatic spectrum are being seen at white tie events. Mohna Lisa Couture has a selection of wonderfully designed gowns that will do wonders to show off your figure and are amazingly inventive! This is the Erotica Mesh gown seen here worn by Sequoia. This silhouette dress will amaze both the one wearing it and those who see it passing by. The sheer sides of this optical illusion gown actually have colour change panels. These panels, under the sheer fabric, are able to match all skin tones, so they achieve that silhouette and remain modest like dancers costumes. Secondly, the skirting glimmers and shimmers as you move a unique effect perfected for this gown. This is not scripted or particle in any way, it is entirely accomplished by how Mohna textured the gown. The included Fascinator rises above in a flourish with optional veil and adds an adittional flair to an already very fascinating gown.

Julia and Julie

Next we have Kymsara wearing the extremely provacative Julia gown with a pewter and sterling finish. The fabric is tailored exqusitely to form, capturing the light and the shadow cast so perfectly across satin patterned fabric. The silk highlights continue as the sheer threads woven into this organza skirt are fluid with her every move. The over the shoulder collar is also sheer and swoops down to frame the deep plunging neckline. The same fabric is used as cuffs to the sterling stiched gloves, giving the entire gown an attratively complete finish.

MLC Yolanda

Last we come to the Yolanda Glittery Black gown from Mohna Lisa worn by Sequoia. This black full skirted bit of artistic mastery cannot be captured well by mere photography, it must be seen worn to be appreciated. Like the Erotica gown above, Mohna has woven his magic glimmer shimmer into the skirt. Do not wear this to any events where you are trying to remain unnoticed. The plume of this gown will sweep across the floor capturing all eyes. What is best is that it flows below the shimmer of the black satin rising to silhouette your magnificent form. There is a certain assymetry to the cut of the Yolanda Glittery Black which encouraged Sequoia to take some chances with this gown and wear some jewels and hair that might not be the most traditional for such a formal white tie event. The Ireth Chain Halo Headpiece and earrings from PurpleMoon available through L’accessoires are absolutely perfectly suited to the braided mesh locks from Elemental Hair that fall wonderfully off the open end of the assymentric collar.

So many have sung you the praises of this charity and the orphaned children it will help. So…. i will only gently remind you that you will be helping those who have so little and you will look fabulous in the process of doing so.

Princess of the Serengeti

Sequoia has chosen the brilliant colours of the Serengeti outfit and turban by Tres Beau to close out her african continental experience. The mesh harmem pants have a wonderful hip hugging fit and the disc hoop earrings and bracelet set is a spot on match to the flow of vivid hues and patterns of the turban to the top to the pants bringing a beautiful balance and exposure of skin. Paris Autumn Fashion Show Parade - Preview

Rose continues her creative “Storybook Series” line with a very special design titled “The Peacock’s Complaint,” inspired by the Aesop fable of the glorious bird who found no joy in his beauty and complained bitterly about his raspy voice. This tale seeks to teach us to make the most of what we have and not to envy the gifts of others. This highly detailed gown is is made from imported metallic thread embedded silk from the Far East, fashioned to capture the colour and grace of the peacock feathers.

Aphrodite's Rose

While I still cannot pick a favorite from among these designs, I must include the incredible Le Linen Rose II among my top picks. The delicate and sheer lines of this graceful gown and the remarkable detail work, including the rose theme ebroidery, will make this one of my fall favorites. I was also delighted to discover how well the NEW Aphrodite Bronze Ensemble, from Vendome Jewelry, fit with this gown . . . and to emphasize the regal look even a bit more . . . i chose a few of the NEW Princess Poses from PosESioN, which are part of their gift for the Runway Perfect Hunt, starting October 1.

Blair . . . with a flair

Poulet Koenkamp, of PurpleMoon Creations, has just released this fresh little dress in a variety of tempting colors. The Blair is simply  a must have addition for your late summer – fall wardrobe. Whether you select one of the soft pastels, or the darker shades, you will find that this design is flexible enough to work as either a comfortable, trendy and feminine look for a day of shopping with the girls, as well as a dressy date night option.

Blair . . . with a flair

I enjoyed discovering a new designer this week – Vendome Jewelry has recently opened, and offers some really unique pieces worthy of your consideration. I am wearing the Flora ensemble which includes earrings, bracelet, ring and a very interesting necklace. As you can see the necklace is not your typical chain or vine design but, looks very much like a gold ribbon collar. The workmanship on this set is exceptional, and i confidently predict we will be seeing a lot of Vendome Jewelry on the SL runways accenting the work of many haute designers.

Hope for Emilia

Athena for Emilia

Vivien Emerald – of Desir – is not only designing phenomenal gowns, but is creating them specifically to support some very critical and important causes. Her signature cultural awareness is reflected in Athena – her offering for the “Hope for Emilia” program [ View Video Here ]. Athena is the goddess of wisdom, courage, and inspiration, certainly three traits of those who have put forth their effort to help the people of Northern Italy, many thousands who were left homeless after the earthquakes and subsequent aftershocks in late May to early June of this year.

Athena for Emilia

The flaming red color and figure-hugging silhouette of Athena remind us of not only of the lines of ancient Roman dress, but also of the great Italian sirens of the silver screen. Vivien’s homage to the rich heritage of Style Italia helps us stay focused on the objective of providing relief and support for the people of the Emilia-Romagna region. All of the proceeds from sale of this gown and the designs of other participants, you will see stamped with the Hope For Emilia logo, in this and other blogs, will go to directly to the people of Emilia-Romagna. Have Lindens - will shop!

Sometimes — well okay, OFTEN – i find myself with a urge to do some serious shopping! (Surprise!) And, since this is a fairly special (albeit frequent) occasion, it merits a special outfit – right? (Yes, yes, i know so do other special occasions, like weeks with a Wednesday in them :)) But I digress. Something casual, but dressy, comfortable but chic . . . If you (like the other 14,000 PurpleMoon fans), have been paying attention you have probably noticed the “Manager’s Choice” offerings in the main store. This little ensemble actually was a recent selection from that series and included the lacy Dahlia Skirt, Chandra top, Margo Jewelry, belt and shoes in a combination which i think is perfectly delightful. I loaded my Lindens into my new Linnen Baggie Purse fromSySy’s, grabbed my new Holly Sunglasses from Redgrave and pulled out one of my old favorite summer hats from Elegance Hats (sadly no longer available) and headed out to (where else?) PurpleMoon!

Célébrations from City to Shore

oh yes, we can-can!

It’s a dream come true! And it could be your’s too! Here i am in the City of Lights, Paris, the most magical city on earth, at the one and only Moulin Rouge, wearing the incredible Via La France gown from Paris Metro! French-Canadian pose designer, Morgane Batista, also helps us to feel that exultation of spirit, that “Joie de vivre”!!! Does it get any better than this?July is a perfect time for a French tour with July 14th, La Fête Nationale, (French National Day or to English speakers, Bastille Day), quickly approaching. From the home of Haute Couture Rose Morpork has gathered the tri-colore fabrics of the French flag is her elegant silk Viva la France gown, accenting it with the Fleur de lis for emphasis. Sequoia twirls in excitement and wonder at her good fortune. Captured in the moment you can see how this colorful gown floats with every move. In preparing for this trip of a lifetime Sequoia made a special trip to the salon for a special updo with a perfectly matched liberte ribbon at D!va Hair.

By the sea . . .

The Riviera is far from the glitter of the city, but no less elegant, KymSara enjoys a peaceful twilight stroll among the wildflowers on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean wearing Paris Metro Couture’s Elemental Water Gown. With the melodic strains of Francis Cabrel’s Je l’aime à mourir, discernible above the sounds of the surf, she reflects on a most pleasant evening. To match the mood, the environment and the theme of this lovely gown KymSara chose the Water Spiral Jewelry ensemble from Elemental Earth Designs (EED). Right on cue enters her paramour to escort her back for one last spin across the dance floor.

Midnight in the City

Midnight in the City

“It was a dark night, in a city that knows how to keep it’s secrets . . .” A visit to Chicago 1920’s always makes me think of Garrison Keillor’s opening line for his Guy Noir tales. And a visit to this sim needs a very special standout gown. Introducing Augusta Creations. New to our blog Augusta Fride offers some most lovely designs. With this visit to Chicago in mind I settled easily on her elegant Marlene gown in gold. Soft and flowing, with daring eye-catching reveals, large soft bows and ruffles it is a perfect choice for a twenties event or a sophisticated current gala. The new Romance Hair from Vanity Hair is also just right for either era. I added my favorite long Zelda pearls from Aurora Borealis, and the brilliant La Fleur Nails and Bracelet from WTG and was ready for the adventure!
