Meiling - Coquette Ballerina 1C

Meiling has created, for her generous donation, a fascinating coupling of influences in this dance studio themed Coquette Ballerina dress. Her choice of silk for the strapless top and skirt goes much beyond the typical studio outfit and the addition of a large bow accent of the same material clearly sets this well beyond the mere casual. The inclusion of capri length leggings helps to expand the many possibilities from comfortable casual to LBD dressy.

Meiling - Coquette Ballerina 4C

Your imagination can continue well beyond the studio as you consider adding a floppy brim hat and dark glasses with Meiling’s free gift Fave Ballerina Flats (available at the House of Meiling main store) for a day of wandering around he beach or antique shops. Or perhaps your might don your favorite bling and strappy heels for cocktails at the club. While you are contemplating why not take that giant leap or “grand jete” to bring joy to the people of Japan. The JRF under the leadership of its founders, reigning Miss Virtual World, Serene Faith and Ji Nirvana, have raised over $800,000 lindens at last report, let’s see if we can make it a Million!

Ready to Wear from L`Abel is the Vivike. L`Abel if you are not already aware is the modern and contemporary fashions of Neferia Abel who became most well known for her Vintage Fashions that span the decades from the Chanel 20’s to the 80’s with Victorian, Edwardian and Baroque time periods represented as well.

Neferia has studied the artistry of fashion for decades herself and you can see the care she takes in perfecting her hand drawn textures with this lovely dress. It is a good example amongst the many options available just a few steps from the doors of Ivalde and the main landing point on the Ivalde sim. A perfect complement to this dress is the Papillon jewel set from WTG by tosy Xue. Prestige boots in black by Bax boots add the foundation for this complete look including skin from LAQ and hair from Chantkare. ~ seq

It Must Still Be Summer ….

It MUST still be summer somewhere!

Yes, I know that autumn is upon us, and all our favorite designers are releasing wonderful new fall lineups, but summer is so fun and i can’t resist one more post of a delightful summer outfit! Appolonia Criss hit all the marks for summer with her Pedro dresses; fresh, light, breezy, colorful and easy to wear. Some really great color choices for this fun little dress from Chantkare, but i went straight for the soft pastels remembering i had the perfect matching sun hat from Elegance Hats. Sadly, this hat line is no longer available but, with or without a chapeau, this little frock is a summer winner. ~ kym

New York, New York

New York, New York!

Fashion Week in SL is always great fun. The designers seem to really draw a special surge of inspiration from the event and the atmosphere is just charged with excitement as the new work hits the runway. Chantkare was featured on opening day this year and showed a luscious array of pre-fall colors and patterns, all worked beautifully in her marvelous designs. Before leaving the show area I just had to drop by the boutique and grab this little MOMI Dress in the special show “Peech” color.

So, this is New York . . .

Can’t wait for the full release of all Applonia’s show items. My new Frill Pumps from Sakka’s Studio (discovered at Shoe Fair) and Lucas Lameth’s fab Feuille Naturelle jewelry set complete this look, and I set out to explore New York! Poses are by Sbecky Kidd of Perfection is Style. ~ Kym

Got the Blues in Hotlanta

Got the Blues in Hotlanta

This little Poppies dress from Applonia Criss of Chantkare is without a doubt one of my very favorites from her wonderful line. I thought of it straightaway when Stiletto Moody announced her summer blues contest. Our challenge was to capture the notion of “Blues” including, of course, a pair of Stiletto’s fab shoes in blue. It was an easy choice for me to pair the Moody Bare Jean shoes with the Poppies dress and head off to Hotlanta Blues to make the pictures . . . and of course to catch a few tunes. The detail work on this dress is really amazing including the lace sleeves and a deeply cut bare back. Wearing the blues and looking good definitely helps to keep those other blues away! ~ Kym

Summer Color Time

Summer color time (2)

The song says the livin’ is easy now. And, summer is definitely the time for fresh colors. Appolonia Criss has captured all that, and more, in Chantkare’s newly released Summer Colororgy Collection! So many great designs to choose from but, my first pick is this Feelings Ensemble – the fresh, light floaty skirt with a finely detailed waistband and tie belt is paired with a comfy white tank top – just perfect for that early evening walk to catch the ocean side breeze. Sequoia dropped me a prototype of her new Miaa design jewelry set from ABJ – Aurora Borealis Jewelry and I think it is perfect with this outfit! ~ Kym

Dusk at Dusk

Dusk at Dusk (2)

Appolonia Criss always seems to offer the perfect look for those early evening cocktail parties. Her Dusk dress design, from Chantkare, exploits the drape and color flow of the silk fabric to accent the silhouette and add a soft, feminine ruffle at the neckline. And, lest we could possibly appear too demure, Appolonia has plunged the lines of the deeply cut back to add a touch of sensuality and intrigue. ~Kym

On the Beach

On the beach . . .

Sometimes the most lovely creations have the strangest names. So it is with this awesome offering from Appolonia Criss of Chantkare. Her lovely cocktail dress bears the unique moniker of “Asphalt” Nevertheless, it is a flowing and thoroughly feminine delight, and sure to turn heads at your next early evening gala, dinner party or dance event.
