From Formal to Casual with Purple Moon & WTG Jewelry

The spring releases at PurpleMoon Creations reflect the amazing breadth of amazing designs we enjoy from Poulet Koenkamp. Her gowns are always elegant and the Lolita is simply magical! So, it seemed appropriate to add tosy Xue’s Magical Circle earrings from WTG Jewelry.

With cascades of blooms accenting elegant lace and flowing silks PurpleMoon’s new Marzia gown is truly breathtaking. And, once again, I found tosy Xue’s Jewelry to be a perfect accent. The Blessings Ensemble from WTG Jewelry, while not a new release, is one of my favorites, and seems as if it is designed to match this lovely gown.

Purple Moon Creations regularly offers entire styled outfits put together by Poulet and her staff of models. These Designer’s Choice ensembles are consistently well assembled, (with such an amazing array of coordinates to select from!) and usually deeply discounted. These next two outfits are among the ones I haven’t been able to resist adding to my growing wardrobe of PurpleMoon Casuals. I am also excited about all the new spring releases from Lindy’s Modern & Retro Shoes! And this very latest release from WTG Jewelry, the Isis Ensemble is actually a group gift!

We recently celebrated Lewis & Maddie’s second anniversary at Club Noir, their vintage themed Jazz and Swing club. The B&W look seemed like the perfect setting for this shoot. And, its a great spot for an evening of good music and dancing with someone special.

On a Golden Wintery Eve & Bamboo Dreams

I am continually amazed at the creative elegance of Vivien Emerald’s spectacular couture designs. In these latest releases from DESIR Haute Couture, Vivien has captured the allure and mystery of the traditional lines of Chinese costume while exploiting the beauty and flow of the most incredible silk brocades to bring us two gowns of breathtaking beauty. The Chinese Golden Dragon Costume features a high collar bolero with very traditional capped shoulder elements, over a gown which dramatically emphasizes the form and movement of the wearer. The ensemble includes an incredible dragon headpiece, with an appropriate hair addition to complete  the traditional costume look. I chose however, to style this one to show its flexibility as a more modern formal gown, adding tosy Xue’s fabulous Myth Jewelry set from WTG Jewelry (which seems almost magically matched to Vivien’s gown) and a typical western updo from Amacci. Regardless of your personal approach to this gown, you will be delighted with the look, fit and ease of wearing the myriad parts and attachments that are a part of this most amazing design.

It is difficult to choose a favorite between these two costumes from DESIR Haute Couture! In the Shena ensemble, Vivien once again finds inspiration in the line and fabric of the most traditional Chinese dress, moving forward from there with her typically stunning interpretation. The billowing soft silk she uses in this gown contrasts so effectively with the detailed fine lines of the primary gown pieces. As soon as I saw the floral and bamboo embellishments on this rich fabric I knew right away that the perfect jewelry match would again be one of my favorite sets from  WTG Jewelry. This is one of tosy Xue’s earlier designs with a relatively unremarkable name of J:D-02, but an amazingly detailed floral cluster which echoes the embroidery of the gown’s collar. Vivien also includes her awesome dragon headpiece/hairpiece attachments with this ensemble to enable you to capture more fully the essence of the traditional costume.

I really enjoyed a visit to the China and Amatsu Shima sims to shoot this series in two of the most tranquil and dreamlike settings in SL. And, having the on-location lighting flexibility of my LumiPro, enabled me to capture the beauty of these designs in a most appropriate environment.

Boho Hobo & Meena at the Fair

Canadian designer Trill Zapatero has traveled the world and studied the textile creations of many countries. Trill has lived the bohemian lifestle. This experience of vagabonding through many countries of various traditions brought her to create Boho Hobo and Meena brands in SL. The designs are so incrediblely colourful and exciting, what even makes them stand out more is Trill’s generosity. Not only are her fabulous designs reasonabley priced, but all proceeds from all sales go to RAWA, an organization that funds orphanages, schools and clinics for refugees of the Afghan war. All of these amazing designs are available at the Boho Cultural Fair until October 31st.

Sequoia wears the mesh skinny jeans and matching Bandeau top in aqua. Mix and match is so much the ideal at Boho Hobo with selection of many seperates to create your own unique look. A few flowers in her hair from Truth or the Abe hat with a fine flourish of feathers, Sequoia is ready to bring her wearable artism to Burn2 the art event in SL that is the only virtual sanctioned community of Burning Man.

Kymsara is wearing the Backless Choli Top & Kuci Skirt from Meena. Meena clothing and jewelry is influenced by the Afghanistan textile traditions. The backless Choli top is gathered by a soft ribbon tie above the top skirting the waistline of the vibrant Kuci skirt. Bohemian, Gypsy and Hippie influnces in the cut and style of clothes can be seen in the melting pot of world fahion and as the influence of textile traditions merge.

Every so often the free styling of Boho resurfaces to the most unlikely of places of style as club wear. This wherly gigs mesh tube dress could be seen as a very transistional dress going from afternoon straight to an evening out. The crazy quilted pattern lends itself well to tradition while looking fresh and Boho-Chic. You could definitely see Kate Moss in such a look. Hope for Emilia – Miss Darcy

Hope for Emilia event is drawing to a close and it was a smashing success for organizer Anna Saphire and friends, but she would want me to remind you the sim and the shops are not closed yet. There is still time to run over to pick up what we think are two of the loveliest mesh exclusives from Miss Darcy.

Sequoia wasn’t a fan of mesh at first, but is coming around quickly. It is hard not to love what mesh offers when you get such lovely texture and skirt flexibility. The lines of the Marilyn dress from Miss Darcy are so clean, and the floral embroidery of the sings with a flourish only silk thread could manage. Certainly worth a last minute look and all to benefit people displaced from their homes.

KymSara looks all sunny and bright in the Marilyn Gold gown which shows just how sculpted and form fitting the mesh fabric is. The shading and dip of the fabric and crease in the folds of the skirt give the dress such depth and will definitely give off that feeling of bringing home the gold in the fashion olympics. Plus how can you not feel good about being so generous and looking so incredible in return.

Just a few days ago we were talking about the fabulous Paula Gown that Poulet designed as a hunt gift for PurpleMoon’s third anniversary celebration. Linen So Soft…

It has been a while since we had an exclusive feature of a pants outfit, and it seems only fitting that we break the long drought with an outfit deserving of preferential treatment. The mesh coordinates from MOLiCHiNO are just that! MOLiCHiNO is offering a classic set of slacks with linen wide leg and high button-down waist called Kay, and a wide selection of tops to complement.



Both KymSara and Sequoia not only loved the Kay pants but, found the Linney Halter Top goes perfectly and is a cool and comfortable combo for the warming days of summer. When we discovered these mesh coordinates it was a race to see who could get them styled up first. so we decided why not share both our looks. Sequoia quickly added the newly released Espressivo jewelry set from WTG for the perfect touch to the soft blue Linney top.

Kym’s turn in MOLiCHiNO is a nod to the fashion forward who want to look professional and have a wow factor. The slacks may seem traditional grey but with the addition of the Linney top in hawt pink, it says “fierce”! Kym couldn’t resist the bold new Folieole Ensemble and the Rave Red nails from Finesmith to add a bit of finished flair to her choice of pink and grey.

Out for an afternoon of shopping, Sequoia has it all together in this eye catching ensemble styled around Paris Metro’s Scribble Cocktail Dress. She was so taken with this ensemble that includes the hat, that she created a matching bag and jewelry of her own modified design to match. No stopping there she took a yellow cab to MStyle to pick up the perfect shoes. And those legs!!!  Are you taking a long look? . . .

Happiness is Being Ever so Blue

It is certainly no surprise that so many love PurpleMoon Creations and that the VIP Group has grown to over 14,000 members! It is so easy to see when you take in this incredible confection of lace and satin, the Ninde Gown, which was a gift from Poulet to celebrate that milestone in her group. The soft cascade of blue roses on the bodice is echoed with the matching headpiece. I think the elegance of the Charleston Lace Grand Ballroom provides a wonderful setting for this gorgeous creation. Thanks Poulet! You are not only one of our most creative designers but, also most generous. So much to feast our eyes on and many opportunities to expand our wardrobes!

Poulet Koenkamp is really on a roll with her elegant mesh releases from Purple Moon! Her fab Bed of Roses Gown, shown here in but one of the yummy colors, is definitely a front-runner in mesh design. While we were a bit skeptical that we’d see our favorite designers really embrace this new medium, the consistently beautiful and well-fitted offerings from PurpleMoon are showing that it can be done very well indeed. Seq found the Teal and Grape colors ideal for her graceful Nena jewelry ensemble from Aurora Borealis and was delighted that the hemline allows her to show off her new Goshi Pumps from Mstyle.

And, speaking of hemlines! The little Julia Balloon dress from PurpleMoon raises both the hemline, and the bar in mesh design. This a most comfortable dress which has some wonderful movement and enables one to sit down gracefully, without having parts vanish into the pose! If you haven’t yet tried any mesh designs this dress would make an excellent first run. Comfortable, and easy to dress up or stay casual. Fay’s Dorian platform heels work extremely well for a evening of dancing at the club, and provide a good reason to sit down and enjoy that mesh flexibility too.

KITES Collection Part 1

STARRY Night —
Sequins and pin pleated chiffon combine artfully to make the Starry Nights gown a memorable standout look for your most special event. In RL this would be so very perfect to wear for my harp concerts but, SL provides a fantasy opportunity to imagine i could be an actual chanteuse — as long as i just pose with the microphone and don’t really try to sing!



The bold Black and White combination also seems just right for an evening at your favorite piano bar – whether you are performing or just there for a quiet drink with friends and an elegant dance or two. Speaking of bold – how perfect is tosy Xue’s Blessing Jewelry set from WTG with this gown!

AYO Cocktail Dress –
And for pure fun – mix one part Little Black Dress with one part Little Red Car! Meiling’s Ayo Cocktail dress inspired me to jump in the Ferrari and zip up the coast to that little seafood place in Malibu. This is a delightfully crisp and flexible ensemble with an optional sleeveless jacket, and just the right feminine frills and bows, with a bit of a breeze in from the ocean giving those loose wisps of hair a bit of a carefree look. Carry the theme of casual elegance right through with the strappy look of SLink’s Tiger Heels.

MANZA Wrap —
When Diane von Furstenburg splashed her wrap dresses onto the fashion scene in the 70s she launched an enduring favorite concept. Meiling’s latest build on this foundation, the Manza Wrap dress, takes shape with the distinctive prints and solid linens and underlines the whole notion of the wrap by using the two different fabrics. Light and comfortable, while stunningly fashion forward, this was one of my first picks from the Kites collection. Finesmith’s oversize hoops in coral and Kagami graphic bracelet work really well for that late afternoon shopping trip that flows right to cocktails and dinner uptown. And the Felicia Capped Stiletto from SLink are just perfectly matched to that look.
