Hope for Emilia – Cool Summer Breeze

No matter how you see things, with vivid colour or in a monochromatic mood, Hope for Emilia is keeping summer alive. As the cool summer breezes soothe the summer’s heat, so does a trip to Hope for Emilia satisfy that need for retail therapy. MOLiCHiNO continues to add the must have in mesh to our wardrobes, with this Pixie dress available in citrus green only at Hope for Emilia. The Pixie’s dresses design is so special and distinct, i have not seen any like it in all sl. So cute and demure the pleated shift design is so modest with a square cut neckline and capped sleeves, but still so sexy with it’s mini length. Certainly to catch more than a few eyes as you walk on by.

I always enjoy discovering a “new to me” designer — especially, one with a fresh look and a creative approach. A visit to Elmont Fashions at Hope for Emilia satisfied all these notions! Black & white is one of my favorite themes and Aubry Brinner has used it very nicely in her Daylight Sundress, an exclusive release for the Hope for Emilia Event. I am also enjoying the Grande Soiree Swirls Necklace fresh from Aidorou and still exploring all the delightful makeup colors from FacePaint, both available at the Hope for Emilia event.

The elegant Sony Elee Sab Gown from Celestina’s Weddings, is most assuredly, not reserved strictly for weddings! The rich tone-on-tone fabric, and choice of three different skirt configurations – from a completely dance-manageable, all the way to the grand flowing version shown here,  ensure this stunning creation will be a standout to be worn around SL’s finest ballrooms as well as the wedding chapels. The fine design of the Sony Elee Sab Gown, which uses mesh and flexi components to great advantage, is matched by a perfect fit.  From the alpha match, to the bodice drape it was delightful to find things so easy to adjust. Leri Miles Designs is offering a magnificent selection “Eliza” – a softly flowing mesh gown in the dreamiest colors – exclusively for the Hope for Emilia event. It was a very difficult choice, but i settled on the “Kiwi” color combination, and added Chop Zuey’s exclusive and unique Migonette Jewelry Ensemble, and Face Paint’s Smoke  Blue makeup to finish the look. The Hope for Emilia designers have really risen to the occasion for this event, providing some truly wonderful opportunities to add fabulous pieces to our wardrobes while providing some genuine relief to our troubled neighbors in Italy. The Hope for Emilia event runs through August 9th.

Hope for Emilia – Generous Variety

Variety is the spice of life and there is plenty served up at Hope for Emilia to please many world tastes and styles from original works with an ethnically traditional inspration to soft summer dresses to wonderfully detailed evening wear. Something to please all palettes and the best part is that these creatively sewn pixels are the work of generous designers who wish to help those poor souls displaced by the eathquakes of Northern Italy. Now all we need is another set of generous type people to go visit the Hope for Emilia event sim for yourself and see what i mean by “Generous Variety”
Analee Balut of ALB Drean fashion has wowed us for years with fabrics and fashion inspirations of the Middleeast and always gets many of us to step out of our comfort zone in the mixing of patterns colours of various complexity, but she always has such pinache to pull off the perfect balance from head to toe of such a diverse set of components to her ensembles. Her Hope for Emilia coordinates are no exception. I added the Speranza Necklace by E-Clipse and a smokey make-up from Face Paint, both also found exclusively at the Hope for Emilia event.

My suggestion would most assuredly include Glamour Style, i know another black gown right?, well look again and a little closer at the beaded diamond stitched pattern across the skirt and the hem and the ruffle across the bodice then you might decide yes i have room for this one, definitely!

Hope for Emilia

Vivien Emerald – of Desir – is not only designing phenomenal gowns, but is creating them specifically to support some very critical and important causes. Her signature cultural awareness is reflected in Athena – her offering for the “Hope for Emilia” program [ View Video Here ]. Athena is the goddess of wisdom, courage, and inspiration, certainly three traits of those who have put forth their effort to help the people of Northern Italy, many thousands who were left homeless after the earthquakes and subsequent aftershocks in late May to early June of this year.



The flaming red color and figure-hugging silhouette of Athena remind us of not only of the lines of ancient Roman dress, but also of the great Italian sirens of the silver screen. Vivien’s homage to the rich heritage of Style Italia helps us stay focused on the objective of providing relief and support for the people of the Emilia-Romagna region. All of the proceeds from sale of this gown and the designs of other participants, you will see stamped with the Hope For Emilia logo, in this and other blogs, will go to directly to the people of Emilia-Romagna. Desir has also participated in this years “Relay for Live” event. Although the event concluded last weekend you still have an opportunity to pick up this gorgeous ebony gown. It is named interestingly enough named Emilia, all proceeeds of this dress however go to the American Red Cross to help find a cure!

Just a few days ago we were talking about the fabulous Paula Gown that Poulet designed as a hunt gift for PurpleMoon’s third anniversary celebration. Sometimes — well okay, OFTEN – i find myself with a urge to do some serious shopping! (Surprise!) And, since this is a fairly special (albeit frequent) occasion, it merits a special outfit – right? Vivien does Vivienne!

I would strongly suggest you make some time to swing by the MANIERA sim before Sunday. MANIERA is hosting a Tribute to Vivienne Westwood Exhibition, as part of their launch as a real life digital publication. The exhibit is a fascinating glimpse into the artistic creations of the amazing British designer – Dame Vivienne Westwood. Now in her 70’s, Westwood still manages to shock and surprise and amazingly has remained at the forefront of fashion design for 40 years. As part of the exhibit, eighteen SL designers were invited to create a tribute piece inspired by Westwood’s work. Of the many exiting and exclusive designs my hands down favorite is Vivien Emerald’s Vivienne Dress. Surprising, in so many ways, pink plaid being just one! The Vivienne dress will certainly get you that wow factor and many will do a double take at the magnificently definitive cut and standout style.

There are just a few day left for the show items on the MANIERA sim. The designer tribute vendors will go away on Sunday 15th, so i suggest you rush over now to grab these unique items in the style of Vivienne Westwood, and while you there be sure to take in the Tribute to Westwood Exhibit [click for limo].

Poulet Koenkamp of PurpleMoon is really quite an exceptional designer in so many ways. The quality of her gifts certainly speaks to give reason to why she now has over 15,000 group VIP’s. Her latest group gift is absolutely breathtaking and equal to the quality and detail of even her most expensive gowns. Such flourish spreads forth from the shoulder and bodice, petals unfolding to a New Dawn. In the New Dawn gown you will feel so fresh and elegant in the flow and gradeur and to think it’s free!

There is something about a little animal print outfit . . . This Cheetah dress from PurpleMoon, was another group gift! Sorta makes it doubly special! Poulet is not only one of the grid’s most fabulous designers but, also one of the most generous! Always a pleasant surprise and well worth the group.

Elikatira, formerly ETD, has been back for a while and once again is offering some very lovely hair designs. I particularly love the softness of this Abbey hair and was able to bring out some favorite heels from SLink to add a nice complementary touch.

It’s a dream come true! And it could be your’s too! Here i am in the City of Lights, Paris, the most magical city on earth, at the one and only Moulin Rouge, wearing the incredible Via La France gown from Paris Metro! French-Canadian pose designer, Morgane Batista, also helps us to feel that exultation of spirit, that “Joie de vivre”!!! Does it get any better than this?July is a perfect time for a French tour with July 14th, La Fête Nationale, (French National Day or to English speakers, Bastille Day), quickly approaching. From the home of Haute Couture Rose Morpork has gathered the tri-colore fabrics of the French flag is her elegant silk Viva la France gown, accenting it with the Fleur de lis for emphasis. Sequoia twirls in excitement and wonder at her good fortune. Captured in the moment you can see how this colorful gown floats with every move. In preparing for this trip of a lifetime Sequoia made a special trip to the salon for a special updo with a perfectly matched liberte ribbon at D!va Hair.

The Riviera is far from the glitter of the city, but no less elegant, KymSara enjoys a peaceful twilight stroll among the wildflowers on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean wearing Paris Metro Couture’s Elemental Water Gown. With the melodic strains of Francis Cabrel’s Je l’aime à mourir, discernible above the sounds of the surf, she reflects on a most pleasant evening. Right on cue enters her paramour to escort her back for one last spin across the dance floor.

Midnight in the City

“It was a dark night, in a city that knows how to keep it’s secrets . . .” A visit to Chicago 1920’s always makes me think of Garrison Keillor’s opening line for his Guy Noir tales. And a visit to this sim needs a very special standout gown. Introducing Augusta Creations. New to our blog Augusta Fride offers some most lovely designs. With this visit to Chicago in mind I settled easily on her elegant Marlene gown in gold. Soft and flowing, with daring eye-catching reveals, large soft bows and ruffles it is a perfect choice for a twenties event or a sophisticated current gala. The new Romance Hair from Vanity Hair is also just right for either era. I added my favorite long Zelda pearls from Aurora Borealis, and the brilliant La Fleur Nails and Bracelet from WTG and was ready for the adventure!
