52 Weeks of Color Challenge : Plum

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Plum

There were precious few Plum-colored items in my closet to respond to Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge this week. Oh my, what to do? SHOPPING! I found a number of potential candidates but, even if i had not been seeking a specific color, i would not have been able to resist this Candlelight gown from G. Sloane Creations. It is so appropriately named, with an exceptional blend of the most luxurious velvet and satin and a contrasting reveal of midnight blue lace at the slightest movement! At just a bit longer that tea length, it is perfect for dancing, or merely looking spectacular under soft candlelight.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge : Goldenrod

Enchanted Tryptich

Every once in a while things converge in ways that seem fascinating and call for special notice. This week for Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge I found a convergence of three things of interest: (1) Luna’s Challenge Colour was Goldenrod, (2) The Enchanted Elven Realm sim opened! and (3) The Magic of Oz Anniversary Celebration included a hunt which featured — you guessed it — a lovely fall Fae outfit in GOLDENROD colour! Too much of a coincidence to ignore so, I did something different to mark the occasion and donned wings and flew off to explore the new sim and, to shoot some pictures for the Challenge.

Enchanted is a delightful spot, full of fantasy colours and fantasy beings (its a refuge for unicorns!) I felt quite at home in the lovely Golden Fae outfit from Evie’s Closet and enjoyed wearing the Briar Rose headpiece with it. I have always loved Earthstones’ Tivona footwear for a day at the beach and they seemed a perfect match for this outfit as well.

Colour Challenge Goldenrod (3)

It isn’t everyday that you can spot Kym wearing wings and no heels but, such an occasion requires a bit of a stretch. It will take some exploring to see all that Enchanted has to offer and it is wonderful to have an appropriate outfit to to fit in there.

O, and by the way, if you are curious about the wind effect on my lovely Boon hair, just drop me a note and I’ll share the secret! ~ kym

Tres Beau London

Tres Beau London - Composite

Fall is my favorite season and what better way to celebrate it than shopping for some fabulous new looks. Perhaps something special, to ward off the chill when the air begins to have a bit of a nip to it.. Kimmera Madison is showing some delightful falll separates at Tres Beau. Among them is her London outfit which includes a darling little black dress, but more significantly, this amazing plaid jacket! In addition to the crisply tailored jacket itself, which has many versatile options, the ensemble features an absolutely wonderful waist length cape. Whether you are out for a walk in the country in the first snow, or you are heading to the city for some holiday shopping and lunch with friends you’ll find this outfit to be perfect for the season! ~ kym

Where The Ferns Grow Tall

Where the ferns grow tall

Hello again from Ivalde!
Neferia Abel’s Fifties Collection has really bloomed in recent weeks! Her latest addition is the lovely Daina cocktail dress. The detail on this dress is really incredible but, typical of Nef’s meticulous work. From the classic embroidery accenting the bodice to the soft folds of the period accurate skirt, this dress reflects all the finest featrues of the era. And while Nef is in the fifties groove, I am stuck in an extended hat fancy! (Worse things could happen!) I just love Chigadee London’s “Bogey’s Broads” Collection at Couture Chapeau and picked her Ingrid design to wear today. The shoes are Ekota X, a timeless style from Enkythings. Though this is a fifties design i just can’t help uttering the words “Play it again Nef!!!”~ kym

52 Weeks of Color Challenge : Blue

Maggie in Blue - for 52 Week Colour Challenge

Neferia Abel is back, and in a 1950’s groove! We are loving it! Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge offered us the perfect opportunity to showcase one of Nef’s newest releases in her collection is the charming little Maggie dress. It’s available in a number of terrific pastels but, since the Colour Challenge this week is blue . . . . and since that happens to be my favorite . . . off we go! When I think fifties I always think of the super period shoes from Evoke, Here we have their Chunk Heel Mary Janes – they not only look good and right for the era but they are sooo comfortable for those long hours on the stand 🙂

Take it from the Top!

…And I just couldn’t resist a bit of departure from era to match up the totally delightful Lady Carrie Hat from Reghan Straaf of Hatpins. It may be a Victorian design but, I really loved the color match and the lace accents, which go so well with the bodice overlay of the Maggie dress. And, it is rather fun to borrow from various eras sometimes! ~kym

Yes, It’s a Sis Thing!

Summer in the Fall

I suppose some of you have clicked on the tab “About Seq & Kym” at some point and have read that we often show up in the same place wearing the same outfits and even have the same general styling thoughts. This has happened often enough that we are starting to take it for granted! When Rogan Diesel released the BFF pose set it got me to thinking, “what a great way to take advantage of this trend.” And sure enough, the very next day we picked the same dress from among Neferia Abel’s latest release from Ivalde’s 1950’s collection! Seq chose the blue ( i knew she would!) while i picked the yellow. As you see we even picked the same shoes; Ribbon Slingbacksfrom G-Field. And when i go for a vintage thirties through fifties look i always think of Seq’s Vintage bead jewelry sets (from Aurora Borealis Jewels (ABJ). The iGEms Vintage Beads are available in such a variety of colours that you are sure to find a perfect match. It was fun to capture this Sis moment and share with y’all. Thanks Rogan, for the perfect pose! ~kym

52 Weeks of Color Challenge : Grey

Grey Elsine (close) - for the 52 week Color Challenge

Luna Jubilee has issued a special opportunity to bloggers to participate in weekly challenge. Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge will have bloggers respond each week with a featured outfit in their own personal blog in the Challenge Color and leave a comment linking back to each weekly challenge. Week #1’s colour is GREY. I thought immediately of Neferia Abel’s elegant Elsine Victorian Gown and one of my favorite hats — the Lady Geneva – from Reghan Straaf of Hatpins. Grey seems most appropriate for the Victorian era and, the designs of both this gown and hat are clear examples that grey need not be drab! Watch for our future responses to the Colour of the week. ~ kym

Drive Them Insane in Your Hamlet

Ophelia Composite

Evie’s Closet is such a delightful source for fantasy and early period gowns that we might overlook it when shopping for that special occasion dress or gown. To be or not to be fabulously stunning?….Well, as we can see here, Evangeline Miles’ designs are wonderfully elegant, and perfect for that fresh, stand out look at our most sophisticated gala. I really love the Ophelia gown, and was fortunate to latch onto this set when it was offered as a limited edition in royal violet colour. There are a number of equally lovely colours available now, all accented in the most detailed floral embroidery. Whether you are seeking a special early period ensemble or a unique up-to-date look, an elegant design from Evie’s closet is always a good choice and a way for cupid to send a Shakespeare through anyone’s heart! ~ kym

Fall Fashions from L`Abel

Ydi Gown by L`Abel

Neferia Abel released a marvelous collection of exciting looks at L`Abel, her contemporary and high fashion house during Fashion Week this fall. There were so many it was an arduous task selecting only one to showcase, so today you get two, also then deciding on a favorite well forget it! It is impossible to pick a favorite from this dynamite collection but, the Ydi gown is definitely at, or near the top, in my view. Nef combines elegant brocade and tulle lace into a sumptuous confection which makes it a real star offering from the Fall collection. Since we understand that black is the new black for this season, what could be more perfect than black-on-black! And Sequoia Nightfire’s Serentiy Black Pearl set is just the right accompaniment – from Aurora Borealis Jewelry. See the picture for 1000 more words on this lovely ensemble.

Idelle

Another bright star from the collection is the Idelle gown, crisp and fresh in soft violet and white with a black accent band at the bodice this layered beauty just exudes elegance! And, with the to- the -thigh slashed skirt, you can be as daring as you want to be on your favorite dance floor !

While you are pondering over these, and other alluring gowns from this fabulous collection, I am off to enjoy them at a few of my favorite ballrooms.
