Paris in the Fall!

Sparkling Blue IceI know, I know . . . the song says Paris in the spring! But, you have to love the latest fall releases from Paris Metro Couture. Fantastic colours, elegant design and what a joy to wear clothes that fit so very well, and are so meticulously made. This “Sparkle My Mini” gown actually is based upon a sparkling little mini dress which certainly is a head-turner on its own but, I was so enchanted by the flowing long skirt and those incredible arm scarves that I just had to activate some of my favorite DieselWorks poses to capture the movement. And the fun is not just for the studio! The slightest breeze, or most graceful dance, sets these elements into soft movement. With that in mind Tosy’s “Sails” ensemble from WTG Jewelry seemed the perfect accessory choice!Sparkling Blue IceWearing – Sparkle My Mini in Blue Ice NEW from Paris Metro Couture

Her fresh wool and knit ensemble with scads of options which includes a snuggly suede Biker jacket, will have you ready for that coming chilly weather in style. I love the plaid mini skirt, and the Adventure boots were a bonus surprise which come with the ensemble. The detail work in the cable sweater and scarf really must be seen to be fully appreciated. Also, check out the “Fallen” Ensemble from Amorous Jewelry. I picked this set up at the October L’Accessoires sale but didn’t get back from travel in time to blog then. Both Amorous and L’Accessoires are so worth visits as you put together your fall and winter wardrobes.

Windswept Leaves

And back we go to the ballroom! My first selfish thought when I saw this incredible Windswept Leaves Gown was, “I must get that styled and shot before Seq spots it!” (So sorry Sis!) I think Rose was really perceiving the fall breezes in her Paris Metro Couture design studio this season, and did such an amazing job of translating them into positively elegant gowns. I have already received the nicest compliments wearing this one to a dance evening. This latest jewelry ensemble – Circus Maximus – from Chop Zuey caught my eye right away, not only for its design, but it comes in Rose Gold, one of my most favorite RL jewelry choices. I think the colour is just perfect for fall, and Windswept Leaves.

Go Vest!

Go Vest young avi . . .
Isn’t there a song about “Everything Old is New Again”? Trill Zapetero has a real gift for bringing old styles into fresh and delightful forms at Boho Hobo. I love what she has done with her NEW lineup of vests. Her Fringey Vest comes in a super selection of colours and patterns, so you are sure to find just the right match. The Unicorn Tapestry Vest is based on an actual tapestry, and is fantastically detailed. I love the simple elegance of the Black Lace vest and can see wearing this in more formal stylings as well as to add a dressy touch to casual outfits. The other items in this ensemble are all from Boho Hobo as well, including my favorite Schlumpy Hat! (Trill has such a way with names for her designs :)) Remember too that all sales of Boho Hobo clothing support Afghan women. Lindy must have been reading my mind as I put this outfit together she called to tell me about her newest boot design. These Harleigh Boots are now available at her NEW Location, Lindy’s Modern & Retro Shoes and, for a limited time, also at Fashion Limited (for an introductory 50% discount! You can thank me later for this tip.)
I highly recommend a visit to Analog Dog Island to check out Queue Marlowe’s latest Point B Styles, a totally new line, distinct from the traditional Analog Dog styles. You’ll see more here later but I am really liking her new Cray design!

And last but definitely not least — Mallory Cowen has just released an amazing new line of skins — LAQ Essentials. You are going to love these as much as I do. If you have been following our blog for a while you have no doubt observed that I a major fan of LAQ skins. I must note that this is my personal choice – not a subsidized plug. I have been wearing her skins since I came to SL and up until this release have thought nothing could ever beat the LAQ Glow Skin line. The Essentials though not only continue Mallory’s softly natural makeup approach but exploit the features of MESH by offering a spectrum of eye and lip colours as well as nose and mouth shapes, hair and cleavage options as tattoo layers! There are two wonderful sets at the NEW  LAQ Essentials  shop now, with a promise of more to come.

Silk and glitter glam for fall!

Red Heat from Meiling

My friend Alvaro writes from Europe that “Red is the new black for this season’s fashion.” I am all for it! And, Meiling echoes the thought from Trinidad-Tobago with this delightful Red Heat Gown, her latest mesh release from Meiling Couture. The sloping hemline reminds me of the 40/50s flair and the floral accent below the waist is an interesting feature as well. Adding a bit of a modern touch with some of my favorite Finesmith gold jewelry and my new Jolie heels from Ncore (with dots!) and I am delighted to be on trend for fall! And fall is lovely in the Kingdom of Alurel! You really must visit for a stroll among the leaves.

All silk & glitter

How many times do we hear that fashion maxim: “Less is more!” I think Meiling understands that concept very well. She has chosen a most lovely silk for this crisp little La Boucan Cocktail Dress, adding the black floral collar for just the right touch of formal, freeing us up to add whatever glamming feels good. I couldn’t resist Yula’s latest Mind Eye Décor from Finesmith Jewelry and Tosy’s brand new Jeweled F+ nails from WTG Jewelry. And of course Fay’s Krystal Shoes are perfect for a finishing touch. O yes, I’ve got the blues going on now, and I mean that in a most positive way!

Draped in Splendor!

Origami by Paris MetroOrigami is a traditional Japanese art of paper folding, the goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. RFB Morpork has given the name Origami to this fabulous draped back dress from Paris Metro Couture.Origami by Paris Metro

Like taking a flat piece of paper, mesh is transformed as she has taken two dimensional textures of fabric, light and shadow and folded them into this exquistive design of sumptupous lines and curves. There isn’t much more to say that can’t be expressed in the photos, other than to say, the warm glow you feel wearing this mesh fabulousness is beyond words to describe.

I love mixing and matching my accessories across the palatte of this dress. Combining the designs of three wonderful jewelry designers was a joy and came with marvelous results. A special welcome back to Julia Merosi of je::suis who took a short respite and is now back enthusiastic and in a new location.
