Draped in Splendor!

Origami by Paris MetroOrigami is a traditional Japanese art of paper folding, the goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. RFB Morpork has given the name Origami to this fabulous draped back dress from Paris Metro Couture.Origami by Paris Metro

Like taking a flat piece of paper, mesh is transformed as she has taken two dimensional textures of fabric, light and shadow and folded them into this exquistive design of sumptupous lines and curves. There isn’t much more to say that can’t be expressed in the photos, other than to say, the warm glow you feel wearing this mesh fabulousness is beyond words to describe.

I love mixing and matching my accessories across the palatte of this dress. Combining the designs of three wonderful jewelry designers was a joy and came with marvelous results. A special welcome back to Julia Merosi of je::suis who took a short respite and is now back enthusiastic and in a new location.

Spring Night in Paris

Kym was fascinated by the recent “Eternal Flames” exhibit of Milly Shaple’s work at the Paris Metro Gallery, and is wearing the M. Sharple gown designed by Rose RFB Morpork of Paris Metro Couture in honor of the artist and this special event. This is one of the unique gowns in the Paris Metro Couture Artist Seies. Shown here against the fading evening light you can see that it is as light as a soft spring breeze with a delightful richness of colour and elegance of line. Every gown, or design, in this series embodies some of the exhibiting artists’ work, with 50% of all sales sent directly to the Artist at the time of your purchase. These gowns enable Paris Metro Art Gallery to maintain and continue to bring great talent and events to Second Life. Enjoy all the amazing exhibits at the Paris Metro Gallery and be sure and visit the top floor of Paris Metro Couture, just across the boulevard for the enticing collection of  “Artist Series”gowns. Continuing the theme of fine art, Kym selected a wonderful new piece from one of her favorite jewelry artists we showcase below.

Lady of the Manor

I would say its safe to say that tosy Xue is also one of Sequoia’s favorite jewelers too. This fabulous manor house styling of the J’Taime from Paris Metro Couture deserves the regal treatment and one could never go wrong with tosy’s most elegant “Fragrance” jewelry ensemble which Seq has chosen to adorn herself with.

Sometimes it is so difficult to pick from all of tosy’s incredible designs but KymSara has chosen well wearing the Dragon Fes necklace. Beautifully detailed it provides a perfect accent to her most beautiful gown.

Holding Onto Autumn

The Autumn Leaves of Red & Gold

The Winter Solstice arrives on December 22nd and Christmas 3 days later but you can hold onto that Indian Summer as long as you wish to when you wrap yourself in the Winterberry Silken Mountain Gown NEW from Paris Metro. Yes i said “Winterberry”, this gown is not only stunning but can make the seasonal transition very easily. No one does feathering of skirts quite like Rose[RFB Morpork] of Paris Metro and the texture is fantastic in its patterned artistry. Kym has chosen so well adding the gold leaf necklace from G Field to offer a nice accentuation to this deciduous delight!

Roaming the Galaxy for the Perfect Look

La Galaxy Haute

Paris Metro designer, Rose (RFB) Morpork, is amazingly artistic at creating a perfect blend of shade and light to bring out the vibrancy of primary colours, while creating depth with an overlaying texture. Her NEW Galaxy gowns are so exceptional in that way and the colours of each of the gowns are so complementary to each other that it was rather easy for us to decide this should be a collaborative post.

We slipped into our favorite colours from the several dazzling choices and set to styling. The vivacious Galaxy gown features a boned corset top, blossoming above to an elegant flare and flourish, the skirt floats with such delicacy with every move, highlighted by the tone-on-tone paisley design of the dreamy silk fabric.

As is customary and natural, as sisters separated at birth will do, we were equally drawn toward one of our fave jewelry designers, tosy Xue of WTG. His incredible jewelry ensembles were a smashing choice in adornment to the Galaxy, adding a flair and additional interest. Sequoia chose the Pappillon set to match up with the gold and KymSara the Blessing set to go with the teal.

When it came to updos, we both rave over the booN hair collection of hairbase coiffures. For starters, there are three versions of hairbase carefully designed to match the sweep direction of the main hairpieces. Also available are perfectly matched hair attachments to the the main hair. KymSara and Sequoia have used all of these options, which allow you to augment the main hair well beyond what is available elsewhere, to create very individual looks. We were quite pleased with the results and it is safe to say we will be back shortly with more elegant designs from all three of these designers, but for now . . . off to the ballroom!

Northern Lights Over the City of Light

Reflections of Aurora Borealis from the North Pole

JeanPierrot Hamelin, Curator of the Paris Metro Art Gallery recently premiered a new exhibit of RL Danish & Second Life Artist Betty Tureaud’s work entitled “North Pole”. In the exhibit the award winning Miss Tureaud experiments with the brilliant spectrum of colour and light of the Aurora Borealis. Rose (RFB Morppork), owner of the Paris Metro Art Gallery and designer of Paris Metro, took the opportunity to collaborate with Betty to create an unbelievable new dress to add to her Paris Metro Artist series. Rose has captured the colours and dynamics of the artist’s work beautifully in the truly inspired Betty Tureaud gown. The movement of the brilliant patterns and flow of the gown is as mesmerizing as natures brilliant display. This fabulous gown is available at Paris Metro for the duration of the exhibit with 50% of proceeds going directly to the to Miss Tureaud. The “North Pole” exhibit is something you must experience and i urge you to attend. Here is your taxi (click to SLurl) Paris Metro Art Gallery. Put your settings on midnight when you arrive 🙂
